Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Productive Believer is developed and maintained as an independent application for Muslim users who want a privacy-respecting productivity workspace. References to "we", "our" or "us" in this policy refer to the Productive Believer development team. References to "you" refer to users of our mobile and desktop applications.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be explicit about what we will never do:

• ✕We do not collect your name, email address or any personally identifiable information without your explicit consent.
• ✕We do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• ✕We do not track your behaviour across apps or websites.
• ✕We do not use your spiritual or religious data for any purpose other than displaying it back to you.
• ✕We do not serve advertisements of any kind.
• ✕We do not create profiles of you for marketing purposes.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All app data — including your journal entries, tasks, habits, dhikr counts, prayer records and focus sessions — is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable the optional sync feature (see Section 5).

You have full ownership of this data. You can export, delete or move it at any time from within the app settings.

4. Location Data (Prayer Times)

To calculate accurate prayer times, the app may request access to your device's location. This is entirely optional:

• →If you grant location access: your coordinates are used on-device to compute prayer times. They are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
• →If you deny location access: you can manually enter your city or coordinates in the settings. The app works fully without location permission.

We do not store your location history. Location is only read at the moment prayer times are refreshed and is not persisted beyond that calculation.

5. Optional Sync (End-to-End Encrypted)

The app offers an optional sync feature to back up and synchronise your data across devices. This feature is:

• ✓Opt-in only — disabled by default, you must actively enable it.
• ✓End-to-end encrypted — your data is encrypted on your device before transmission. We cannot read your synced content.
• ✓Deletable at any time — you can delete your sync account and all associated encrypted data from within the app.

When sync is enabled, an anonymous account identifier is created. We do not associate this identifier with any personally identifiable information such as your name or email address unless you choose to provide one for account recovery purposes.

6. Crash Reports & Diagnostics

To improve app stability, the app may collect anonymous crash reports. These reports:

• →Contain only technical error information (stack traces, device OS version, app version).
• →Never include your journal entries, tasks, or any personal content.
• →Can be disabled at any time in app settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Productive Believer is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

8. Third-Party Services

Productive Believer does not include third-party advertising SDKs, social media trackers, or analytics platforms that collect your personal data.

Because your data lives on your device, you already have full control over it. You may at any time:

• ✓Export all your data from the app settings.
• ✓Delete all local data by uninstalling the app.
• ✓Delete your optional sync data from within the app settings.
• ✓Disable crash reporting in app settings.
• ✓Revoke location permission via your device settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via an in-app notice. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
