How can we help?
Answers to the most common questions about Productive Believer.
Getting started
Is Productive Believer free?
Yes. The app is free to download and use, with no ads. The project is supported by donations from people who find it useful.
Which platforms is it on?
Productive Believer is a mobile app for Android (Google Play) and iPhone. The iOS version is on its way to the App Store; the download buttons on this site will point to it as soon as it is live.
Do I need an account?
No. Tap “Continue without signing up” at the end of onboarding to use prayer times, the qibla, the adhan screen and reminders, the focus timer and the journal. Tasks, routines, notes, the calendar, prayer tracking, the daily reflection and the weekly report need a free account so your data can be kept safe and in sync.
Which languages does the app support?
English and Turkish. The app starts in your device language; you can change it any time under Settings.
Prayer times & adhan
How accurate are the prayer times?
Times are calculated for your exact location with established methods — Diyanet (Turkey), Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura, Egypt, Karachi and many more — including madhab (Asr) and high-latitude settings. You can also fine-tune each time by a few minutes under Settings → Prayer settings.
I don’t want to share my location. Can I still use it?
Yes. Open Settings → Prayer settings, choose “Manual” and enter your city and coordinates. Location is only used to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction.
I am not getting prayer notifications.
Make sure notifications are allowed for Productive Believer in your phone settings and turned on under Settings → Notifications in the app. On Android, also allow “Alarms & reminders” and exclude the app from battery optimisation. On iPhone, open the app every few days — iOS only keeps a limited number of scheduled reminders, and the app tops them up each time it opens.
Are there home-screen widgets?
On Android, yes — 13 of them, including next prayer, prayer ring, prayer times, today’s tasks and routines, Hijri date, a prayer heat map and a one-tap focus session. iOS widgets are planned.
Routines, tasks & reflection
How do streaks work?
Each day you check in a routine, its streak grows. To keep things gentle, one missed scheduled day per week is forgiven, and you can check in past days from the routine’s 7-day history.
Can I schedule a routine after a prayer?
Yes. Pick an “after Fajr”, “after Maghrib”… preset and the routine moves with the prayer time every day, reminders included.
What is the daily reflection (muhasaba)?
After Isha the app invites you to a two-minute review: what you are grateful for, what the day taught you and your intention for tomorrow, next to a summary of your prayers, routines and tasks. It is saved as a tagged note so you can look back on it.
What are seasonal packs?
Before and during Ramadan, the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah and the blessed nights, the Today screen offers ready-made routines (anchored to prayer times) and tasks. Add them in one tap; they are cleaned up when the season ends.
Account & privacy
Is my data private?
There are no ads, no tracking and no analytics SDKs in the app. Account data is stored securely so it can sync to your devices and is never sold or shared for marketing. Your journal stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my account?
In the app go to Settings → Delete my account. Your account and all of its data are removed immediately. If you no longer have the app, you can request deletion by email — see the account deletion page.
I can’t sign in to my account.
Write to us from the email address on your account and we will help you get back in. Prayer times, the focus timer and the journal keep working without signing in in the meantime.
